Perricone is an indigenous and rare variety of western Sicily. Its vineyards grow on steep sandy soils in Camporeale area, at more than 600 meters above the sea. Older than 15 years, and cultivated with no synthetic chemicals, they grow as small trees. Production yields are about 6000 kilograms per hectare. Perricone grapes are hand-picked in mid-October at the best ripening conditions. When it is possible, fermentation takes place in open oak vats on grape skins for about 30 days; then, ripening comes about in oak barrels with a capacity of 25 hectoliters.

Deep ruby red colored, Maquè  Perricone '13 IGP Terre Siciliane is a red wine with hints of cherry and balsamic notes. It is enveloping, full and pleasantly long in the mouth.
