Our Bluefin Tuna Buzzonaglia is composed of small pieces of the most lean and savory fish parts. It owns a deep taste of the sea.

After having pan-tossed Bluefin Tuna Buzzonaglia, try it to enrich first courses! For the most demanding gourmets we suggest you to taste it with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and lemon juice.  

Bluefin Tuna is considered as one of the most precious tuna species. The Mediterranean Sea is its natural habitat thanks to its sea salinity and water mild temperatures. In May and June tunas live in schools and get close to the coast; in this way, fishing activities take place in conformity with EU provisions protecting tuna survival.  Since 1854 Campisi has processed tuna with a great care and passion at the ‘tonnare’ (places where the fishing nets are set) in Marzamemi, few kilometers from Syracuse.

Bluefin Tuna Buzzonaglia is the most lean and savory parts of tuna. It is separated manually from fish vertebras. In the past it was considered the most humble cut of tuna: while rich owners took the most precious fish parts, tuna buzzonaglia was used to pay poor fishers for their work. Women started to use it to enrich humble meals and transform them into delicacies. A timeless flavor!
