Badalucco

Pier Paolo Badalucco and Beatriz de la Iglesia Garcia are a Sicilian/Spanish couple dedicating to the ‘Dos Tierra’ project whose purpose is to realize wines representing their lands of origin. For this reason the Tempranillo vine variety – a typical variety in Rioja, northern Spain - is cultivated among Marsala, Petrosino, and Mazara del Vallo next to Nero d’Avola vine groves. The vineyards are managed with no use of chemicals: the old Nero d’Avola grapevines express territorial characteristics perfectly while Tempranillo grapevines are a true tough challenge requiring care and passion. After several years of experimental tests, the two grape varieties determine a unique and charming blend vinified with the exclusive use of indigenous natural yeasts and aged in French wooden barriques. Badalucco de la Iglecia Garcia wines are a charming blend representing the strong historical relation between the two cultures and territories tied through centuries, Sicily and Spain.
